I felt like such a loser after my blood was drawn because the whole time I was staring at a cardboard box in the corner that said “Chemotherapeutic” and thought back to the awesome boy I met at the pediatric oncology department who was playing Gameboy, waiting to have a treatment done. And I thought about Krysten’s face scrunched up in discomfort when she had her port accessed for chemo. And about this video I watched back when I was shooting the documentary with ASK. I have no right to complain about anything when there are children in the world who are getting spinal taps and when there are parents of children getting spinal taps sitting there having to hold their child’s hand but not being able to help them. The parents who never cry in front of their kids.
